Cross Canada Tour Finished.

Hello folks. We've returned safely from our cross-Canada tour. What a massive and magnificent country we live in. I am humbled by the sheer scope and diversity of Canada. The different cultures and regional uniqueness is staggering. Having grown up in the mountains of BC, St. John's, Nfld was like a different planet. Hard to believe that we all wake up under the same sun, and flag for that matter.

We put 14,482 kms on the odometer in just over four weeks. I think that the 482 kms may have been due to a few disagreements with Google Maps, like the hotel being in the middle of a cemetery in Corner Brook, Nfld. Didn't agree with that one. But for the most part, travel went off without a hitch.

We dropped down into the States for a good portion of the drive back west and stayed with friends in Hyde Park, Vermont. What a beautiful and laid back area. I'll definitely be back to visit again. Northern Michigan on the Southern shores of Lake Superior was stunning. It was hard to fathom that on the other side of that horizon was Thunder Bay. I thought Kootenay Lake was big.

I have to send out a huge thank you to all of the people who showed us such great hospitality during our tour. Your homes made ours feel a little bit closer while we were away.

This was my first major solo acoustic tour and it was very different than the van full of stinky dudes and Marshall stacks that I'm used to. I played venues that I couldn't even imagine playing before. We even played a fancy restaurant in Winnipeg to people eating expensive meals and drinking vintage wine that probably cost more than our entire tour budget. I really feel like I can say that I've played in almost every situation now. From 12,000 people at the Bell Centre in Montreal to 5 people in a coffee shop in Alma, New Brunswick. And honestly, I loved it all.

Rather than suffer the usual post-tour downs, myself and Britt are starting to book a west coast tour for late October. Hoping to play the lower mainland, up the Sunshine Coast and over to Vancouver Island. If any of you would like us to play a private house concert at your home or a small venue in your town, please drop me a line and we'll make it happen.

See you out there in October. Cheers, Mike.

Hi folks. Britt and I are now one week into this cross-Canada tour. 3400 kms so far. We're one quarter of the way through. The shows are going well and we're really looking forward to the remainder of the shows. We're looking fondly towards a couple days off in Halifax in two weeks time. The truck tires are getting tired. I hope there won't be a mutiny. Oshawa tonight, Toronto tomorrow and then Montreal on Thursday. Then it's off to New Brunswick and NFLD for more shows.

Fundraising.

Hi everyone. Myself and Britt Meierhofer now have a fundraising page up. We're hoping to raise some money to cover our fuel costs for our upcoming Canadian tour starting on July 16th. Any help is greatly appreciated. Our goal is to bring our music to you and see our beautiful country from end to end in the process. This won't be cheap, so please, any little donation helps put fuel in the tank and get us farther down the highway. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all. I'm currently recording some new material and I'm really excited about sharing with everyone. Also, I'm starting to book my Canadian solo tour scheduled for mid-July through mid-August. We'll be playing east of my home town, Nelson, BC, right through to Newfoundland and back. This should be an epic trip through a most epic country. Details soon. If you are interested in booking me for an intimate venue or a house concert, please drop me a line and we'll make it happen. Cheers, Mike.
